Sheepy Strikes Back

Here's a photo of Parker playing on his mat with Sheepy, Horsey, and other creatures with names ending in y.

And here's Parker being (gasp!) NOT CUTE:

Parker Is Huuuuge

Today April put Parker in a 6-month outfit, even though he's just over 2 months old! The nice thing is that he's not a big fat fatty; instead, he's just super tall. I'm hoping that means he can dunk a basketball by age 3, but he'll have to break down my stellar D in order to get to the rim. I think I can still take him.

Here's Parker being a gigantor.

And here he is, not trashing Tokyo:

One of these days I'll have to take photos of him someplace other than propped up on our couch.

Immunization Is Scary

Today April and I took Parker to the doctor to get his first immunization shots. It actually wasn't as scary as we thought it would be because Parker is made of steel. He had 3 little cries and then he was fine! I think all of that hanging out with Superman has rubbed off on him a little bit. Now if I can just get him bench press our car we'll be all set.

The doctor also weighed and measured him: he's 12 pounds, 3 ounces and 24 inches tall. They said he was doing really well and is growing really well, so that's a good sign!

Happy Day

Like I mentioned in the update, Parker is back to normal again today. I wonder if all the travelling on Saturday kind of messed him up a bit, and it just took a few days to get back on track? We had a good day of running errands down town and we're doing a bit of an overhaul on our house that will probably take us all summer. Here are some more photos (and he hasn't pooped on his Aviator Club clothes yet! It's a new record!):

And to go along with the photo of April, Parker and the combine from Dresden, here's me, Parker, and the combiner Decepticon, Devastator:

Grumpy Day

Parker had a bit of a grumpy day today, which was a bit out of sorts because he's usually in a pretty good mood. So far he hasn't really napped all day, and every time we leave him to sleep he cries until we hang out with him again. We can tell he's super tired because as soon as we hold him he completely passes out. Hopefully he'll fall asleep and be able to take a Rip Van Winkle-esque nap (minus the liquor) soon!

Update: Parker didn't nap AT ALL yesterday! April and I managed to get a lot of work done around the house, tidying things up and stuff, but he refused to sleep for some reason. He was up from 9 am until 10 pm, which is way too long for a little baby! No wonder he was Mr. Grumpy. He ended up sleeping really well through the night and now he seems like normal Parker again. He's all smiles this morning!

Festival of Grandmas

Here are some more photos from our vacation in Dresden!

Us in front of the house I grew up in.

April and Parker in front of a combine that was in our back yard.

April and Parker in the field.

Great Grandma M came for a visit!
And then Great Grandma E came for a visit! There were grandmas-a-plenty.

First Swim Ever!

Here's a slideshow of Parker's first time in a pool with April. The jury is still out as to whether he enjoyed it or not because the water was actually fairly cold. When he first had his feet dipped in he was a bit scared, but he eventually went in up to his waist without a problem. Here's the link:

Happy Parker Slideshow Time

The slideshows seem to be a big hit, so here's another one:

It's just a bunch of photos of Parker, propped up on a couch, being all happy and stuff. April was just about to take him for his first swim ever, so he had no idea of the terror that awaited him (photos to come). Mambo music makes it funny to me.

Adventures in Dresden

Here are some photos of Parker relaxing in Dresden at my parents' place:

Relaxing in his chair with a stained glass window (that my grandpa made) behind him.
Looking all cautious and stuff.

April holding him with my mom in the background on their couch.

Hanging out with my dad.

Daddy looks funny and prompts much laughing and smiling.

Sleeping in daddy's old "sleeping box" (I guess it might also be called a basonnette). But it looks like a box. A box with a baby in it.

You Are Getting Sleepy...

Parker went to Brockville today with April while I did a photoshoot for a really cool couple who are getting married next month! When they got home, Parker was super tired so he just slept. In his car seat. He's crazy like that.

Stars & Strollers

Today April, Parker and I went to see Michael Moore's "Sicko"! Every Tuesday afternoon, our theatre (and perhaps other Cineplex Odeons) have a "Stars & Strollers" feature, where they turn the volume down to non-earth-shattering levels so that babies can hang out while you watch a movie. It was kind of funny sitting in the theatre and listening to random baby noises, but it wasn't very busy (which was nice). Parker hung out and looked around a lot, and he slept a lot, and he ate a little bit. Parker enjoyed the movie and recommends it to everyone.

Clothes From Grandma and Grandpa E

Here's Parker in his new outfit from Grandma and Grandpa E. This is, by far, his favourite outfit......to poop in. He can't wear it for 20 minutes without damaging the aesthetics in a pretty nasty way. He looks pretty cute in it, though! Maybe I should change the name of this blog to Parker's Fashion Tips or something, because every other post seems to be about his clothes. He really IS turning into Zoolander.

Good Times

Here's a photo of Parker relaxing with Daddy on his play mat. He was laughing up a storm yesterday, which was pretty funny to see. The play mat is actually pretty crazy -- it honks and beeps and vibrates and has all kinds of weird things attached to it, but I think Parker's favourite is this stuffed sheep that dangles and stares at him. Parker stares back. They spend many minutes staring at eachother, peacefully. We have dubbed him Sheepy.

Here's another photo of us having some good times this morning.

Cousin Ali!

Cousin Ali and Great Grandma took the train to make a visit today! Since Allie has never been to Kingston before, April is going to take them downtown for a lunch-based adventure with Parker. Here's a photo from when they first got here. I think their baby radar was in full effect because they went right to him like a magnet! Although he IS cute.....

Pouty Slideshow

And just because slideshows are so fun, here's the sequence of photos I was taking while trying to get one (albeit an out-of-focus one) pouty face shot. It makes it that much better that it's set to the sweet sounds of Perez Prado.

Pouty Face

April and I have been saying for a while now that we need to get a photo of Parker's "pouty face" and I think we got it. Every now and then he does this weird cry that sounds like a baby velociraptor from Jurassic Park. The ones that hatch from those eggs and the old guy is all like, "I have to be the first one they see!" Thanks to that classic film we all know the perils of re-animating giant carnivores from DNA encased in amber. A healthy moral for one and all.

Anyways, here's Parker's pouty face! If only we had sound to go with it...

Also of note is Parker's new outfit.

Parker Ain't Afraid Of No Ghost

April and I took Parker to see his first movie ever on Thursday night -- Ghostbusters! Not a bad first movie if I do say so myself (I've busted a few ghosts in my day). Every Thursday night this summer, they city of Kingston will be showing a movie at Market Square -- all you have to do is bring your chair and some snacks and you're good to go. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday evening, especially when Parker is really easy to travel with. It was cool to see so many people downtown enjoying the weather and experiencing a bit of the city! This week is Casablanca. Parker will be kicking it, old skool cinema stylez.
