Where's Parker?

Parker looooves a rousing game of "Where's Parker?". If you say that to him, he'll play peek-a-boo with a big grin on his face. Today, though, he figured out that he can actually hide himself.

In the closet.

He has been opening and closing the mirrored closet doors in the front hallway for a few months but today for some reason, he just stepped inside and started closing the doors on himself. He seemed to be having fun, and we were cracking up.

Sick Bear And Some Old Photos

The last few days Parker has been sick! We kind of think it's tooth-related (his eye-teeth seem to be coming in) but aren't 100% sure. He's been a total grumpus maximus since Thursday, and he's had a high fever on and off (plus he's really congested). Hopefully he's better by the end of the weekend! He's getting better at doing things, though -- he can climb up the stairs really quickly without any help, he really enjoys taking things off shelves and then putting them back on (future neat freak?), and his vocabulary consists of cheese, tree, up, Ming Ming, Mama (still no Dada), go go, bum bum, please, door, clock, book, ball, and car. And he's good at pointing to stuff too. Lately he's been pointing to his crib when he gets really tired (and he's been pretty lethargic the last few days) and it's the cutest thing ever. April tries to read him a little book, but instead he points to the crib as if to say, "Put me in there because I'm tired and that's where I go, Mommy."

April is officially off work for the summer, so that's exciting! Hopefully we can do lots of fun stuff this summer!

And Movies In The Square have started again, so hopefully we can check a few out.

In the meantime, here are some photos from some less sickly days, earlier in the week.

Mommy and Parker, the Karaoke Kid! He needs a hair cut!

This was taken yesterday before his nap. He was pretty hot and tired and his teeth were hurting, so I have him some ice cubes to suck on. He doesn't look very pleased.

But seconds later, he did this! "Oooooo! Waaaaooooooo!"

But seconds after that he did this. :( "I'm sick daddy, don't take my photo!"

Here he is a few days ago, pre-sickness, jamming on the awesome xylophone that Scott and Gemma got him for his birthday! So far we know how to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, When The Saints Go Marching In, the Star Wars theme, and the theme from Love Boat.

Parker was playing with his stacking blocks, and he was dangling them behind his head and dropping them! Weirdo.

Parker opening the drawer to Mommy's china! He knows he's not supposed to do that, so when I caught him with a photo he was like, "What? What is it? Is something wrong? Do I have something on my face?"

Eating lunch.

Here's Parker goofing around with a half-filled Dasani bottle! Haha! Best toy ever?

Slow on the Updates

So I've been kind of slow with updates lately, but that's mostly because work is getting busier (which is a good thing). I have a few new photos, although they look a lot like the old photos because he's wearing the same outfits, so I'll hopefully get around to posting them sometime this year. Instead, here are some photos I stole from Kellen's Blog! We had some visitors last week and Claire took a few photos with her camera of Parker smiling and reaching for Kellen. Parker looks so happy to see another baby! Thanks Claire!

Did Someone Want Photos?

Here are some older photos that I forgot to post last week! They were buried on a memory card in my camera bag.

Parker just recently started giving us little hugs, which is pretty cute. Here he is mauling mommy's face with some eXTrEmE LoVe!!!!!

Parker's stomping ground: the hallway closet mirrors.

Sporting his new shoes, shorts, and t-shirt.

Here he is battling Alternate Dimension Parker, also known as Rekrap. When they get older, Rekrap will probably grow a goatee so you can distinguish between good and evil Parker a bit more easily.

Mmmmm... snacky snacks. Wait a minute!!! How did those peas get mixed with that cheese???

Parker doing his best Gollum face. "My precious!!!!"

Parker playing with a mouse. He seems to really like the wheel thing in the middle.

He likes it so much he just had to scream and tell the world!

Giant paws meet tiny mouse.

"Oooooooooooweeeeeeoooooooo!!!" or something like that.

Looking down at Parker with the fisheye lens as he climbs up my legs! Haha! Fisheye rules.

More fisheye fun in the front hallway.

One of Parker's new things is to push chairs around and re-arrange our kitchen. The other day he pushed the chair in circles around the kitchen for about 15 minutes while I ate some cheese and a peanut butter sandwich. I was spent.

Parker isn't safe from the paparazzi even when he's eating. It's a tough life.

Say Cheese!

Even though Parker has caught on to a few words, I think he had his first official non-mama word the other day: cheese.

He said it during lunch yesterday and it sounded kind of like "tease", so when I told April about it this morning we trtied to see if he'd say it again. He seems to really like eating cheese, so I took a Babybell out of the fridge and we showed it to him. After we said cheese a few times, he smiled and responded with, "CH-eese!" There was much clapping and eating of cheese, and now he gets all excited when you bring it up. So if you're hanging out with Parker and are looking for conversation pieces, I suggest going with cheese.

Sir Reads-A-Lot

Hi Tiffany!
One of the cutest things ever is when Parker sits down to read his books. It's so funny, especially when I turn my head for a second only to find him in a little pile of books when I turn back. Here are some sneaky ninja photos of Parker reading his "gocks".

He finally caught me.

And here are some photos of Parker doing his crazy spider monkey walk on the hard floor. No knees!

Abe's 85th Birthday Party

On Saturday we went to Montreal for April's grandpa's surprise 85th birthday party! He was actually pretty surprised by the whole thing, which is always fun, and it was nice to see a lot of people we hadn't seen for a few years (or who I hadn't met at all). The best part of the party was probably when Parker was cracking up at April's grandpa -- Parker was standing at the foot of their dining room table, and Abe was sitting on a chair on the other side. They couldn't really see each other until Abe sort of dove to the side, leaning on the chair next to him (going, "Boooo!"), and Parker was giggling like a crazy person. His laugh is so funny, and it was nice to see Abe get a chance to play with him on his birthday! Unfortunately we had to leave a bit earlier because of the drive back to Amherstview, but Parker is always pretty happy in the car so it wasn't a tough drive at all. Here are some photos from the party (a bit out of order, as usual).

This is Parker's cousin Abby. She's almost 3 months older than him and can walk like a pro!

Ooooo, balloooooons.

Happy birthday cake!

Millie enjoying the party!

Parker being a little boy!

When Abe first walked into the basement to see everyone. Surprise!

Parker and Mommy love balloons!

Is this Abe's party or Parker's? These photos are Parker-centric, but I guess it's his blog.

Relaxing in the comfy chair and enjoying good company.
